In 2004, while in the USMC Reserves, Steven started working in the security industry with a federal halfway house and as an armed private security officer in the Salt Lake Valley. Through his work, as an armed security officer, mobile patrol officer, supervisor, and project manager, he found the quality of training needed improvement. He started teaching security officers as the primary instructor for the contract security company he was working for, creating a new training curriculum and upgrading the company’s policies and procedures. Throughout his career, his passion for expanding his knowledge in training and teaching abilities led to starting this company, Utah Firearm and Security Training, LLC (Utah FAST) in early 2015, and started teaching concealed carry classes and private security officer licensing. His knowledge and understanding of Utah and Federal gun laws expanded quickly and he started utahcarrylaws.com in 2016 and began talking to Utah legislatures about how Utah could improve current gun laws. In 2020 due to COVID-19 and the closing of businesses, Steven started providing fingerprinting, passport picture, and notary services to the public as well as obtaining a Federal Firearms License (FFL) to conduct the business of selling firearms and gunsmithing. To this day, Steven loves teaching and providing the best and most up-to-date information to the public.
His current goals are to open a training center for both the public and security officers to increase their knowledge and training, and to open a storefront business for fingerprinting. If you are interested in helping him achieve these goals please contact us. We would love your support.
