Frequently Asked Questions

Live scan fingerprinting is an inkless electronic fingerprinting and refers to both the technique and the technology used by law enforcement agencies and private facilities to capture fingerprints and palm prints electronically, without the need for the more traditional method of ink and paper.

In the United States, most law enforcement agencies use live scan as their primary tool in the recognition of human individuals. Live Scan is commonly used for criminal booking, sexual offender registration, civil applicant and background check.

Live Scan Is Much Faster, Easier And Cleaner
Your fingerprints are scanned into the system which helps avoiding problems associated with traditional ink fingerprinting such as smudging, smearing, and over or under inking. The system uses a special scanner and immediately gives feedback whether the print is good or bad and if needed, we just re-scan the finger.
Our system works just like the one the Bureau of Criminal Identification (BCI) and the Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing (DOPL) uses which gives us the ability to provide a higher level of protection.

Simple. Using our system, your fingerprints are guaranteed to be accepted by the FBI and will not be rejected. Okay, we all know there is that 1% chance so "IF" for any reason the fingerprints are rejected we will redo them for you for no cost at all.

We can do your fingerprints anytime and you don't need to worry about having ink on your fingers to wash off. If your fingerprint card gets lost, stolen or ruined, just let us know. We can re-print the card without having to do your fingerprints again, since they are kept secured in the system, and we can have them ready for you to pick them up or mail them to you.

The session takes approximately fifteen minutes. When completed, your fingerprints are printed on the card. The Standard Fingerprint Form (FD-258) is the file card used by the FBI and other law enforcement agencies for the acquisition and retention of fingerprints.
